Acquirers test whether the CPO can describe the AI moat in five minutes and whether their roadmap survives a tough question. A vague or roadmap-by-feature-list CPO presentation visibly lowers the offer.

Responsibilities

  • Set quarterly product priorities and the underlying bets
  • Own the product roadmap and its trade-offs in front of the board
  • Hire, develop, and retain product managers and designers
  • Translate strategic-acquirer / investor signal into roadmap implications
  • Final escalation on cross-functional product disputes
